Developing and Implementing A PREA-Compliant Staffing Plan

In order to assist the field in PREA implementation and compliance efforts, The Moss Group, Inc., in collaboration with the National PREA Resource Center, presents this webinar to introduce correctional practitioners to a new resource for developing a PREA-compliant staffing plan, per standard §115.13/.113/.213/.313. This webinar will introduce key concepts from the published white paper entitled Developing and Implementing PREA-Compliant Staffing Plan: A Resource for the Field that addresses a range of considerations when developing a staffing plan in both adult and juvenile correctional settings. Topics for this webinar will include:

  • Recommendations for approaching or improving a staffing plan with consideration of influencing factors;
  • Facility-specific PREA requirements;
  • Appropriate staff that should be involved in assessing and drafting the staffing plan; and
  • Special considerations including the use of video monitoring, staffing ratios in juvenile facilities, supervision of vulnerable populations, and gender-specific considerations.

The webinar is recommended to all adult and juvenile corrections and detention professionals including agency and facility administrators and staff. Personnel responsible for informing facility operations, intake, housing assignment, program placement, medical and mental health, human resources, investigations, grievance system monitors, PREA Coordinators and PREA Compliance Managers are encouraged to attend.
