Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Formula Victim Assistance Rule Change Effective August 8, 2016

The Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) published the final rule for its Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Formula Victim Assistance Grant Program in the Federal Register on July 8, 2016. The rule, effective on August 8th, clarifies the requirements regarding services to underserved victims, and continues to provide that victims of elder abuse, human trafficking, and other crimes are eligible for VOCA-funded assistance. The rule now makes it possible to use VOCA funding to provide support services to sexual assault victims in detention and correctional facilities. Click here to view the VOCA Rule Change.
