The PREA Resource Center has experts on the prevention, detection, and response to sexual abuse in confinement including: PREA policy review and development, victim centered responses to sexual abuse in confinement, gender responsive and LGBTQI responsive strategies for addressing sexual abuse in confinement, effective investigations and prosecutions of sexual assault in confinement, staff screening and human resource policies, inmate screening, data collection and performance measures, cross-gender supervision, reporting, culture change, the Department of Justice's PREA Standards, and legal issues related to the standards. The PRC also has experts with specific knowledge about these issues in the context of different confinement settings – adult and juvenile corrections, both prisons and jails, and police-lockups.
