Fiscal Year 2020
In 2020, as required by the PREA statute, BJA competitively awarded PREA grants to state, local, and tribal agencies to implement plans for creating and expanding “zero-tolerance” cultures for sexual abuse and sexual harassment, including comprehensive approaches to prevention, detection, and responses to incidents of sexual abuse, prioritizing unaddressed gaps either programmatically or through changes in policy and procedures, as they relate to implementation of the PREA standards.

The PREA Management Office (PMO) created this pre-recorded video training that is designed to assist governors’ offices, adult and juvenile correctional administrators, PREA coordinators, and others who may be responsible for collecting information for the annual governors' certification and assurance requirement. The training provides an overview of the governors' certification and assurance process and requirements for Audit Year 1 of Cycle 3, including a tutorial on how to use the PREA Certification and Assurance Worksheet to capture all the required certification and assurance information.
