Sexual Violence Against LGBTI People in Confinement: There is No #MeToo Movement Behind Bars

The report entitled Sexual Violence Against LGBTI People in Confinement: There is No #MeToo Movement Behind Bars was produced by the Witness to Mass Incarceration organization through a grant received from the National PREA Resource Center (PRC) and funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) within the US Department of Justice.

This report contains valued and important contributions from the voices of formerly incarcerated individuals whose courageous stories and lived experiences help challenge us to continue our advocacy efforts in new and creative ways to help ensure safety, protection, dignity and respect for all LGBTI individuals who are incarcerated. The recommendations in this report are significant and help create a vision for additional policy reforms, educational initiatives, and meaningful culture change work. The PRC and BJA are committed to utilizing this compilation of findings, recommendations and ideas to further the goal of sexual safety and humanity in confinement facilities and agencies across this nation.
