SCI Mercer employee accused of sexual relationship with inmate, bringing in substance

An employee of SCI Mercer has been accused of having a sexual relationship with an inmate and bringing in controlled substances to the jail for him.

According to a release from the Pennsylvania State Police, 44-year-old Tasha Vinson of Stoneboro was taken into custody on charges of institutional sexual assault, possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver.

State Police say Vinson was employed as a corrections officer during the time of the sexual relationship and would engage in sexual activity in various locations in the jail during her shift.
