The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance has just released a FY 2014 competitive grant announcement and is seeking applications for funding for the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Program.
Entitled PREA Program: Demonstration Projects to Establish "Zero Tolerance" Cultures for Sexual Assault in Correctional Facilities, the solicitation is open to states, units of local government and federally recognized Indian tribes. The stated goals are to assist facilities in implementing prevention, identification, and response mechanisms that will reduce the incidence of sexual abuse in confinement facilities.
Applications are due on March 6, 2014.
