Below are frequently asked questions about the upcoming OAS migration.
Q: What is happening with the PREA Online Audit System (OAS)?
A: The OAS is moving to the technical infrastructure of the Office of Justice Programs. While the OAS technical infrastructure, domain, and authentication process will change, the OAS user experience will remain the same. The migration will take place between December 7 and December 21, 2026. The OAS Team will confirm the exact date and time in mid-November. The OAS will be unavailable on the day of the migration while the move is completed.
Q: Do I need to do anything now?
A: No. In mid-November, the OAS Team will send the confirmed date of the migration and provide step-by-step login instructions that users will follow once the migration occurs. You are welcome to register for a webinar on the new login process at:
Q: What is changing?
A: The OAS web address and how you log into the system are changing. The new web address is preaaudit.ojp.doj.gov, and you will log in through DIAMD, which replaces Duo. Your audits, files, and information will move with the system.
Q: What is DIAMD?
A: The Digital Identity and Access Management Directory (DIAMD) is the secure user management system of the Department of Justice. DIAMD uses multifactor authentication (MFA) to verify user identity, and it will replace Duo MFA for the OAS.
Q: Do I need a DIAMD account to use the OAS?
A: Yes. After the migration, everyone who uses the OAS will log in through DIAMD, so a DIAMD account will be required to access the OAS. On the day of the migration, current OAS users will be automatically invited via email to register in DIAMD.
Q: How do I get my DIAMD account?
A: On the day of the migration, DIAMD will automatically send a registration invitation to the email address registered with your OAS account. A link will be provided in the invitation to create your DIAMD account. The link will be active for 72 hours. We encourage everyone to complete registration at that time. If you need a new invitation because your link expires, the OAS Tech Support team will send you a new one. If you are new to the OAS (i.e., you do not yet have an OAS account), the OAS Tech Support team will send your invitation when we set up your OAS account.
Q: Which emails should I expect?
A: You will receive messages from three senders:
- The OAS Tech Support team ([email protected]),
- DIAMD ([email protected]) for registration invitations and verification codes, and
- The OAS ([email protected]) for system notifications.
Please note that two of these emails are do-not-reply addresses that are not monitored. If you have any questions about the messages you receive from these addresses, do not hesitate to contact the OAS Tech Support team at [email protected] or by toll-free voicemail at 800-279-2216. In addition, if your organization filters incoming emails, please ask your IT department to allow emails from the addresses listed above.
Q: Will there be training on the new login process?
A: Yes. The OAS Team will host two webinars on the new OAS login process using DIAMD at 1:00pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, December 2, 2026, and at 1:00pm Eastern Time on Tuesday, December 8, 2026. The same information about logging into the OAS after the migration will be covered in each webinar. To attend either session, please register here:
Recordings of these webinars will be made available on this page.
Q: Who do I contact with questions?
A: The OAS Tech Support team is here to help you at [email protected] or by toll-free voicemail at 800-279-2216.
