This webinar, the first of a two-part series, will guide prison officials, step-by-step, through the process of building programs for responding to inmate survivors of sexual abuse in prisons. Part I will explain how the new PREA standards can be used as a tool for delivering victim services effectively. The training will focus on the role of community-based rape crisis advocates in providing these services and the benefits of early intervention. The webinar will draw on the experiences of prisoner rape survivors to demonstrate to officials how to respond to instances of sexual abuse in a manner consistent with the PREA standards. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions.
