Auditors submitted the bio information found below. The National PREA Resource Center posted only those bios from certified auditors who consented and made only minor spelling, punctuation, and grammar changes.  

If your facility or agency is seeking a DOJ-certified PREA auditor to conduct an audit, you may browse the list below to find an auditor to contact. If you are interested in forwarding a PREA audit request for proposal (RFP) to all certified auditors, the PRC will distribute the document to all certified auditors. Please note, the PRC will only distribute material related to requests for bids to conduct audits. We will not contact all auditors or groups of auditors for any other reason.

Martin has over four years’ experience as a warden of a high-security prison in California, which houses 3,800 inmates and has approximately 1,500 staff under his supervision. He began his career with corrections in California in 1986 and was promoted from the ranks of correctional officer to his current classification of warden. Martin was certified as a trained investigator in 1994 and since has conducted and reviewed numerous fact finders and investigations over the last 21 years.

Rodney is currently the Director of Corrections and Personnel for the Knox County Sheriff's Office in Knoxville, Tennessee, and has been with the Sheriff's Office since April 1986. As a Certified PREA Auditor he has conducted and completed over 30 audits since being certified. He also serves as an Audit Chairperson for the American Correctional Association and has audited numerous correctional facilities across the country. Rodney began his career at the age of 19, working his way through the ranks to his current rank of Assistant Chief Deputy. He has completed numerous hours of training in the field of corrections and is looking forward to retirement in the near future.

Brian is a graduate from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology with a concentration in criminal justice. Brian is an assistant chief with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. During his 20-year career, Brian has been responsible for overseeing accreditation, housing, intake, classification, and training. Brian is a certified ACA auditor and the PREA coordinator for Knox County.

Kecia is currently a quality improvement and compliance professional with Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth, and Families. She has also worked with the agency for 23 years in various direct service and administrative roles. She facilitated a sex offender therapeutic re-entry group and served as the agency’s liaison to the family court. Kecia is an attorney and maintains a private practice in the State of New Jersey; she recently earned a CARF surveyor certificate.

He has been with the department for 13 years and served in various positions to include Daily Administrator of the Work Release Center, Chief of Security, and a Sergeant OIC. Edwin graduated from Columbus State University Professional Management Program in 2014 and holds numbers certificates and certifications.

Christine is currently a program director for the Indiana Department of Correction Division of Youth Services and has worked in that position for five years. She is also the state coordinator for Performance-Based Standards and Community-Based Standards. Previously, she was a program director at Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility, where she worked at that facility for eight years. She also has worked at a juvenile detention center, where she was a counselor and a youth care worker.

Joe is currently the correctional program coordinator for the Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections’ Quality Improvement Services Bureau. He serves as the agency PREA coordinator and has been with the department for over 15 years. Joe has worked with at-risk youth as a direct care staff and staff supervisor for over 17 years. Joe is also a certified drug and alcohol counselor.

Kevin is retired from Hawkeye Community College where he was the Law Enforcement Program Coordinator. This position involved overseeing the Iowa Law Enforcement Basic Level II Academy and Iowa in service Jail and Law Enforcement Training.
Kevin has also retired as Lieutenant from the Black Hawk County Iowa Sheriff's Department where he served for 27 years. During this time he was assigned to divisions including Patrol, Training and Investigations before becoming a Jail Supervisor. One of his many duties included being lead jail instructor for both new and in-service officers and civilian staff.

Michelle, an attorney in Washington, DC, is the chair of the DC Corrections Information Council, a body mandated to inspect the prisons, jails, and halfway houses where DC residents are incarcerated. Previously, Michelle was the director of legal services at Our Place DC, where she provided direct legal services and legal education to incarcerated women in the DC Department of Corrections and the Federal Bureau of Prisons, as well as to formerly incarcerated women in the community.

Michael has over 15 years of experience in the juvenile justice field. In addition to being the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services (BJJS) PREA coordinator, Michael is also BJJS's Performance-based Standards (PbS) state coordinator. Michael is deeply involved in BJJS's quality improvement initiatives.
