In this webinar, PREA Resource Center Co-Director Michela Bowman will describe the audit cycle, instruments, and key phases of a PREA audit. Steve Jett of the Southwest Idaho Juvenile Detention Center – the first juvenile facility in the United States to be certified as compliant with the PREA standards – will then discuss how he prepared his facility for the audit, hired an auditor, what happened during the actual audit, and what steps he took during the corrective action period. Director Jett will share the lessons he learned along the way and recommendations for other practitioners embarking on a PREA audit.

Representatives from state departments of corrections, jails, juvenile agencies, community corrections agencies, and lockups. PREA Coordinators and PREA Compliance Managers are encouraged to attend.
